Motocaddy have added a few new features to the S3 Digital compared with the S1 Digital. With adding these features the S3 Digital has won many awards with reputable golfing magazines like Todays Golfer and Golf Magic and proves that it is one of the best electric golf trolleys on the market. The S3 Digital will set you back £370 but has a number of cool features that make it worth paying that little bit extra.
The frame of the golf trolley only weighs 7.9kg which makes it very easy for the golfer to fold and unfold into position. The frame also has a very sturdy aerospace aluminum frame. Just like the S1 Digital the S3 Digital only takes about 30 seconds to set up with its single fold action. The S3 Digital is easy to fold down into a compact size and as it is light weight, it is easy to store away into small spaces and will easily fit into most car boots.
The S3 Digital’s dual handle provides the left or right handed golfer a comfortable grip for easy steering and manoeuvrability of the electric golf trolley.
Now the controls of the S3 Digital are what separate this electric golf trolley from the rest.
Firstly this electric golf trolley has an Adjustable Distance Control (ADC) setting that allows the golfer to set the golf trolley off in one direction to travel any distance from 5 yards to 60 yards increasing in 5 yard increments. This is particularly handy when it comes to placing your equipment at the next tee while it allows the golfer to stroll onto the green and concentrate on the putt ahead.
The S3 Digital records the lifetime distance of the electric golf trolley in either miles or kilometres and also has a speedometer to tell the golfer how fast he/she is travelling and will give an average speed at the end of their round. As the setting monitors speed it will let the golfer know how long they expect to be out on the golf course which is ideal when for the golfer if they are tight for time. The control panel also has a clock on it so the golfer can never have the excuse for their better half that they never knew what time it was.
The S3 Digital can also measure distance readings such as the golfers drive or distance past yardage markers. Along with having that information the control panel also has a temperature gauge. These settings will certainly come in handy for the golfer as it will give them a good judgement of how far they will be hitting the ball consistently. The only downside about these settings is that they are not R & A conforming; however these settings can be temporarily disabled for competitions and the settings changed to competition mode.
Just like the S1 Digital the S3 Digital is powered by a third generation, powerful and highly efficient 200W motor. The motor has excellent pulling power and it can even keep going through knee deep rough. You have the option of an 18 or 36 hole battery to power the electric golf trolleys motor around the golf course and can also choose the battery colour of either black or titanium. The control settings let the golfer know the battery life and letting them know how long until next recharge.
Overall the S3 Digital is a fantastic electric golf trolley for value for money with all its gadgets. Any competing brand that offers similar features is more expensive.
It is highly recommended that if the golfer looks to purchase this model is to purchase it with the 36 hole battery. The 18 hole battery will be fine but in the long run there is more chance to get more life out of the 36 hole battery.If there has been any problems with the S3 Digital, the majority of customers have been very complimentary about Motocaddys customer service.
