RoboKaddy
Powakaddy wouldn’t be the leading electric golf trolley brand unless they had an electric golf trolley in their range and this comes in the form of the Robokaddy, which has been on the market for a couple years now. Any remote controlled electric golf trolley is good fun and the Robokaddy is exactly that. The first few times you take it out, you are slightly distracted from your golf game, but that passes and then you will reap the benefits. The Robokaddy will set you back quite a bit with prices starting at around £750 and ranging to £850. There are other remote controlled electric golf trolleys on the market at half that price and are capable of doing just about as good a job but keep in mind the saying “you get what you pay for”.

Typically Powakaddy have given the Robokaddy a light weight, AMST alloy frame that only weighs 11.9kg but is very strong and sturdy, just like all their electric golf trolleys. The Robokaddy is available in either black or white, either colour looks good but we do like it in white, but its down to the individuals preference what colour you go for.
The Robokaddy comes with sports wheels as standard and the benefits you get with the sports wheels is that they look good and we found it gave the trolley good stability on steep slopes and tough terrains. Robokaddy also has a removable anti-tip wheel that you can attach to the back of the trolley to give it even more stability but its easily removed for storage purposes.
The Robokaddy takes seconds to assemble with it clicking into position in two easy clicks. We found that all Powakaddys trolleys fold and unfold easy into position. Once you have the frame folded into position you attach the battery between the two sport wheels and either side of the two drive motors. Unfolding the trolley is just as simple and just like every other Powakaddy electric golf trolley the Robokaddy folds down into a compact size and can be stored away into small spaces and will fit easily into most car boots.

The fun begins after you have set up the Robokaddy and you get that pocket sized hand held remote control talking with the trolley and you start to transmit your instructions with the handset. A green and red diagnostic LED light in the handset combined with two on the cart constantly check communication between the handset and the RoboKaddy. This makes the Robokaddy very responsive and you can really move the trolley wherever you want it to go should it be forward, backwards, left, right or if you even need to make an emergency stop. Its great fun to just manouvoure the Robokaddy with your remote control and after a few times out with it you feel so relaxed when playing your round of golf.
The Robokaddy can be used as a traditional push trolley but that really contradicts why you would be paying so much money for the Robokaddy.

The Robokaddy has two independent, almost silent drive motors that drive each rear wheel independently. This is what steers the trolley. You can hear a slight noise off of the trolley when it is coming to a halt but when you are walking down the fairway you really can’t hear a thing.
To power up the Robokaddy is a 30AmpH battery. The battery life can vary depending on how much you use your trolley but you can easily get 18 holes out of it no problem. You should expect the battery’s life span to drop the more you have it out, but if the battery is out of its year guarantee you can purchase a new battery no problem from Powakaddy.
